Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of ProductAuth (the "Service"), operated by Builder Dogs ("we," "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

ProductAuth provides tools for generating cryptographically signed QR codes, verifying product authenticity, and tracking verification events. The Service helps detect potential counterfeiting signals; it does not guarantee the prevention of counterfeiting, and physical control of your products and tags remains your responsibility.

2. Accounts

You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep your credentials, including your API key, secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account. You must be at least 18 years old and using the Service for business purposes.

3. Plans, Billing, and Cancellation

• Free and paid plans are limited to the product volumes described on our pricing page.
• Paid subscriptions are billed monthly in advance through Stripe and renew automatically until canceled.
• You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not provide prorated refunds for partial months.
• Your plan determines how many new QR codes you can generate — Free allows 5 total, paid plans allow a set number per month that resets each billing cycle. This limit has no effect on codes you've already generated. Once a code is printed on a physical product, it keeps verifying independent of billing status entirely: canceling your subscription, a payment failing, or years passing never disables a code already out in the world, for as long as the Service remains operational. (You retain the separate, deliberate ability to deactivate a specific product yourself — for example, a recall — which is a distinct action you control, not something that happens automatically from a billing event.) As with any online service, we cannot guarantee against events beyond our reasonable control, including business discontinuation, catastrophic infrastructure failure, or force majeure events — see "Force Majeure," "Disclaimers," and "Limitation of Liability" below.
• We may change pricing with at least 30 days' notice; changes apply from your next billing cycle.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Authenticate, promote, or facilitate counterfeit, stolen, illegal, or fraudulently represented goods;
• Mislead consumers about the origin, authenticity, or nature of any product;
• Probe, disrupt, overload, or circumvent the Service's security or usage limits;
• Resell or white-label the Service without our written agreement.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with notice where practical.

5. Your Content and Data

You retain ownership of the product information, images, and branding you upload. You grant us a limited license to store, process, and display that content solely to operate the Service (for example, showing your branding on your verification pages). You can export your data at any time.

6. Blockchain Inscriptions

Optional blockchain inscription features write data to the public Dogecoin blockchain. Inscriptions are permanent, public, and cannot be edited or deleted by us or anyone else. You are solely responsible for the content you choose to inscribe and any fees paid to third-party inscription services.

7. Availability and Changes

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may modify or discontinue features with reasonable notice where practical. We recommend maintaining your own exports of critical data.

8. Force Majeure

We are not liable for any failure or delay in performance resulting from causes beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, natural disaster, war, terrorism, riot, labor disputes, government action, internet or telecommunications failures, third-party infrastructure or service provider outages, or the discontinuation of our business. This includes, without limitation, its effect on the availability or verifiability of previously issued product codes.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Verification results reflect cryptographic checks and recorded scan activity; they are signals, not a legal determination of authenticity.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claims arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the amounts you paid us in the twelve (12) months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, or data.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oklahoma, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Oklahoma.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced on this page with an updated date, and continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
